Alpha Phi Omega's National Service Week

As a mental health technician at the Temple University Hospital - Episcopal Campus, Todd Belok provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with various psychiatric conditions. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time in the outdoors. Todd Belok also works to give back to the community through his affiliation with the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity.

Dedicated to building community leaders through service to others, Alpha Phi Omega (APO) maintains a membership body that records over 750,000 hours of combined service annually. In addition to serving their campuses and communities as part of local chapter events, APO members nationwide participate in the fraternity's major annual events, including National Service Week.

Held each year in November, APO's National Service Week dates back to 1979. Today, the annual initiative unites APO members from across the country in a week of service organized around a specific theme that is determined biennially during the organization's National Convention.

In 2019, National Service Week will take place November 3-9 and focus on the theme of Diabetes Awareness. Activities during the week will emphasize diabetes education on college campuses, but APO chapters will also work with the American Diabetes Association, JDRF, and other organizations on local and national events held outside of the higher education community.
